Obtaining an NIE number

Does the application process for a NIE require a police declaration? I can't see this anywhere in the instruction.

Hi John just been on the website to check what documents we need to take to the NIE application appointment and it’s stating the form 790, code 12.

just clicked on the link and I wouldn’t even know how to populate it. It does look like it needs to be completed, downloaded, printed out and take along with other documents?

any ideas?

The 790 012 is the tax payment you have to pay before going to the appointment. You take the receipt from the bank with you to show it has been paid.

Fill it out from here in English and it will print in Spanish. I think it's about 12 euro at the moment but you take that to a bank and either pay from your account (by ATM or the desk) or pay cash if it's not your bank.

Hello and thank you for your reply. Sorry I’m probably being a bit dense! We’re in the UK so we print this form out then take it to our bank (tbh will they even know what it is!). If we do manage to get it paid at our bank we then take it with other documents to our NIE appointment in Manchester? Tha

Sorry, I should have read your post fully and saw you were applying at Manchester. Yes, take the 790 with you and pay it there and then.

Do we fill the form in before we go (as I’m struggling to know which parts to complete). Then take it to the appointment and they’ll ask for payment then?

Also I’ve tried on my iPhone and laptop and no instructions are coming up when I hover over each section.
