Hello any helpful advise would be appreciated.

If a rental contract is only signed by one party is this legally binding? I have rented a property for 10 months and was given incorrect information about the property and area therefore wish to leave. They say I will lose the €900 deposit.

This estate agent deals in cash and as I didn’t have that amount on me I had to bank transfer into her personal account!

I will be contacting Citizens Advice

Many thanks

Jan

If she is a legal estate agent - why did you have to transfer funds into her ‘personal’ account?

At a pinch, one can understand the ‘cash only’, but certainly not a business transfer to a personal account. Have you got a proper ‘invoice’ ‘factura’ for this?

As to the legality, usually contracts of any description are signed by all parties involved - would suggest you consult an abogado/a

I totally agree, however I worry an abogada will cost me even more money.

Thank you for your advice and support in replying. When you are new to Spain, it helps a lot.
