I understand that under 80’s are having the jab. We are both 69 wonder when we will get ours as my husband on 23 tablets a day so understandably I am concerned for him ,

Fact of the matter is no one knows and the authorities dont care.

Numerous users of this forum have asked at their Medical centres when they would be vaccinated, they have got the standard Spanish reply, shoulder shrug, and a we dont know.

Hi, we went to our medical centre in Altea to ensure they have our contact details and that our SIP card was okay and they confirmed that they were all correct. We also asked how the roll out of the vaccination programme was progressing and they said that they were just doing the last of the 80-89 group and this week they hope to start the 70-79 age group. They said that this may go on through to April, depending on supplies of the vaccines. As we are in our 65th year they hope to be vaccinating us by the end of April and the second jab by middle of May. However they give the caveat that it all depends on the supplies of the vaccine. So fingers crossed not too long to wait.

Hope this helps.

I am 77 and don’t expect to get my jab until at least some time in April.   Nationally those of 80 and over are only just due to be dealt with.

When I tried to register for a Temporary SIP last week = unsuccessfully=long story again! the receptionist did inform me that there was not a lot of vaccines available and Spain were only at this time still vaccinating the over 80s, venerable people, health/care workers and emergency services, For people in my age group 60+ would be around May/June if I was registered! stay safe and healthy everyone.

Hi Beryl,

Comunidad Valenciana has joined today 3 other autonomous regions, along with the Canary Islands, in suspending use of the AstraZeneca vaccination, until a potential link with blood clots is proven or discounted.  While Spain has other vaccines available, this is bound to slow down the rate at which the vaccination programme is supposed to be progressing.

Kind regards,

Kim

If you are in the Spanish health system you should receive a call to go for your appointment.   I am 77 and here in Almoradi I know of several in the 80+ age group who have had their jabs.

I hold a SIP card, am 80 years old, and had a call today to tell me I have an appointment at the Guardamar

medical centre on Thursday 15.15.
