Went to Guardamar market this morning and less than 3 mins later was minus my purse from closed across shoulder handbag, not so much money but inconvenience of cancelling cards and other things that were there. Told my tale to Local Policia, was told to go to Guardia Civil,on arrival they told me to go home and cancel all cards which I did,now I wonder if its all worth while to report as I know I will not get nada back and wasting their time. This is the 2nd time something has happened in this same area, some weeks ago met some friends and he/she/they tried to take his wallet from his back pocket. I know they operate all over market areas, but this area ion Guardamar is just down from bus station and there's a roast chicken man on right 2 stalls down on left where this happened,so please be diligent, they are like fork lighting.

I always keep my purse/ small bag under my clothes at the front near my chest- id definitely feel someone touch me there. My partner puts his half down the front of his trousers so his waistband holds his wallet/ pouch & his shirt down over it as normal, I doubt anyone would want to dare try n touch that part. Thanks for the warning!

Terrible that this would happen and a warning to everyone to make sure valuables are protected and secure in busy areas particularly at markets and fiestas. An additional piece of advice is not to wear an expensive watch in these areas as it can quickly disappear off your wrist.
