Hi,

We are planning to move next year with two kids (12 & 15).

We would like to go for Spanish school but we don't want our kids to study Valenciano as Spanish will be already a big challenge for them.

Do you know or have any experiance if there is an option to be dismissed from Valenciano and have extra Spanish or English lessons instead?

Thanks.

Regards,

Michael

I have a Spanish acquaintance who moved her daughter to a private school to avoid Valenciano (which, in my acquaintance's opinion, is a waste of time, and of no value to her daughter's chosen university).

Thanks. This is exactly what we think.

Do you know which private school? As far as I know the nearest one is in Elche.

This one, I think.

But there is an international school near Elche, and another just south of Alicante. I believe that the international schools can prepare pupils for "homeland" universities (British, German etc.), as well as for Spanish higher education.

FYI, as things currently stand, Brits legally Resident in the EU (who were formerly Resident in England) can access higher education at English universities at the "home rate" until 2027. After that, the "international rate" becomes payable; the fees will then be 3 to 4 times higher.

I haven't checked if the same applies to NI, Scotland and Wales.

Hi,

Thanks for update and your help.

I was thinking about local schools in Pinoso or in Aspe?

Private or international it's always an option but I am affraid that they are too far from Pinoso or Hondon.
