moving over to Spain advice on areas to live which are peaceful - Page 2

Hi Snowy White , we have just sold a property in Quesada and providing the sale goes to plan are looking to buy a little further in land , we are also from West Wales and think Hondon de las Nieves looks lovely , we won't be making the permanent move for another couple of years but the sooner the better .

Looking at the properties on line you seem to get a lot more for your money , are there any shops , restaurants within walking distance or do you have to drive ? 

We are back out for 2 weeks in July so will visit the area , but it's always good to hear from people who have already made the move .

We (hubby and I) are not permanent but our 33year old daughter is. She is out there now. She will be happy to show you round. She has her own car. Just let me know and I'll pass on her email address to you. 

There are two supermarkets (Dia and Hyperber) in the town and Aspe have all the main ones too (Aldi, Lidl, Mercadona, Dia, Carrefour Express) Main care four in Elche. 

7 cafe's in the town square, one of which is a Curry place.  A mixture of people, some Spanish some European and English. All very friendly and helpful. Other shops too, (bakers, butchers, pharmacy electric shop gift shop and market (on Wednesday and Saturday) plus a large Chinese warehouse place. and even a kebab shop. 

We have just started to build. The fence is going up around the plot. we know a local estate agent who is very helpful (speak English and Spanish) and more importantly will only see legal houses.

Hi Snowywhite , thanks so much for all the very useful information , we have a friend who is an agent in Quesada she will speak to local agents in the area about available properties , 

we will probably look to buy on the newer developments , who is the agent you have used?

Thank you for the offer for your daughter to show us around , we will have a car when we come over and hope to take a look around the area , we are still unsure on the sale of the property in Quesada things are not going smoothly but fingers crossed as I really think the area would suit us .

Oceanside is the company and her name is Mayte. 

There is a large development between Hondon de las Nieves and Hondon de las Frailes. I know nothing about it although I have spoken to several couples who live there. Mayte may have more information. I know she covers a large area up to La Romana and La Canalosa. She is always happy to just give advice.
