Hi Franca,

Car registrations don't work the same way as the UK.  The current convention for a Spanish number plate comprises 4 numbers, followed by 3 letters.  The numbers are a counter, which runs from 0000 to 9999, and the letters are a sequence which started with BBB and will eventually end with ZZZ, so there is no way to tell the age of a Spanish car just from it's number plate.

Kind regards,

Kim

Just to add to what Kim's said, the letters are allocated to individual communities from Madrid. Some communities register new cars more often than others. That means that if you see a car registered in Murcia with a later registration than one registered in Valencia, it doesn't mean that the Murcia car is newer than the Valencian one.

You need to get out of the UK mindset re car values.

Incidentally, Madrid don't allocate vowels, to avoid the formation of offensive words like FUK.
