Thank you for this, apologies for not replying sooner - life, dear boy, life!!!
Yes , I have just accessed the site via your last link and it worked like a charm, approx 10 seconds! And on an iPad! Our ancient laptop has chosen this precise moment to give up the ghost and is now unresponsive and as dead as a dodo , which would not have helped much!
Is this receipt acceptable in lieu of the official certificate as such?

No, I think you need the EU passport for travel but as least you’ve got a record that you’ve been double jabbed.
I still don’t think you can access the EU cert on an iPad but someone in another area has told me I’m wrong I’m just waiting for them to explain to me how to do it.
Still concerned that after inputting the code from your phone that it kicked you back to the very beginning
. Are you sure you didn’t get the screen as below.

Hi Graham, I certainly got a screen similar to that, can’t now remember exactly, but when I excitedly tried to access the relevant item, I was returned to the form asking for all my details! Again!
Will be interested to hear IPad information as now don’t have a laptop atm!

That’s the link, but it is off a Spanish site, it should be easy enough to follow as Covid and certificate are almost the same in both languages

I requested the digital certificate as I have had both vaccines no probs with the request but where is the bar code?

There isn’t a bar code on it. You should have a square QR code on it
It should look like this photo.
QR code is encrypted for data protection
