I have lived here for almost 17 years but have never heard of a 'rastro' except to mean 'trace' or 'trail'..   What is it that you are looking for as there are a lot of trails?

I guess there arent any in your area if you have not heard of them.  They are kind of flea market, second hand stuff, antiques.  Usually good for pots etc!

I dont I'm afraid the programme I watched was Bargain loving brits in the sun so the Rastro would have been in or around  Benidorm it was in a building not a collection of stalls in the open that's all I remember about it.I really miss going round these type of markets on a Sunday morning,  never knew what you might come across. Forget car boot sales here, the stuff looks like it's been found in a skip come to think of it, it probably has! 🤣

I agree that a lot of the stuff has dubious origins but if you are looking for that special part that you can't find anywhere else you might just strike lucky.
I have had some really good finds on the one at Polop I mentioned earlier, including a microwave dish that had been obsolete for years. In fact I bought two at €2 each!!  If you want a gas bottle there are always some there, don't pay more then 8 or 9 euros.

I recommend giving the electrical stuff a miss though, but you may be lucky.

Happy hunting

Yes catral, this is another one, it is not the one up at Pollop.   We used to do both of them on a Sunday morning then go into Benidorm for lunch (only in the off season!!).

El Cisne is made up of many permanent stalls and also within the buildings on the site. It's a bit like a rabbit warren.  Again you can pretty much find anything but the quality of the junk is better than up at Pollop.
