So technically the day 5 test is a waste of money. If you received the result on day 9 then you only have 1 more day to quarantine.

I think so, it all depends on where it’s picked up from etc. It’s so expensive to do all the tests that I didn’t even bother with the day 5 test. Good Luck with yours

I have just returned from the U.K. I used assuredscreening for my prepaid tests and had excellent service from them and received my day 2 test result on day 4 and day 5 on day 9 that included the bank holiday. I also received a call every day up and including day 10 from the Government quarantine...

... team to check I was indeed quarantining.

How did they know you were quarantining or how do you prove it, we and people we know never got a call, seems a farse.

I don’t know, they asked different questions most days. Asked about my day 2 and day 8 tests on the right days. I do believe that if you don’t answer the call twice in one day they send someone to the address which has happened to someone I know. If you want to take the chance and not quarantine and potentially get fined then it’s down to each individual.

Yep. That's all I gave last year, because that was all I had.

When you are contacted by phone to see if you are still in quarantine, how do you prove you are? Is it just accepted that if you say you are then you are?

Neither my husband nor I  got a call. It seems to be all based on Trust. We were not asked to download a location App so there was no way they could tell if you are where you were supposed to be. In fact I  went out to post off my Tests. When I got to the local post box I realized that I  had missed the only collection for the day so I walked half an hour to the next one and half an hour back. My husband wasn't at all happy but I refused to pay a taxi to collect and post the test for me.

Hi Kieth did you have to stay in a designated hotel or could you stay at a place of your own choice.

You only have to stay in a hotel if you arrive from a red listed country. Arriving from Spain you just have to state where you will be staying while quarantining / staying in the
