Contacting Bankinter
I have now received 2 emails and a letter, in Spanish, from Bankinter requesting my husband and I to reconfirm our personal details ASAP to satisfy money laundering regulations.
We are non residents. The account was set up in the Torreviega branch by our legal advisers, Abaco, when we purchased our property 3 years ago.
So far I have been unable to contact Bankinter to do so. Unfortunately i did not get around to setting up remote /online access to the account. I only use it to pay utility bills by direct debit and top it up periodically by bank transfer.
The contact telephone number given in the letter & emails just leads to a recorded Spanish message which I don’t understand. I cannot find anything on their website either. I have tried emailing customer support but had no response. Their English speaking telephone banking number requires a code which I don’t have. My English personal banking rep hasn’t responded to my 3 emails requesting advice .
Ideally I would go into the branch but I am in the UK and, due to family illness, have no idea when I will be able to travel to Spain.
Ideally I would like a telephone number or email address for the Torreviega Bankinter branch. If anyone can help or advise I would be very grateful I am concerned the account will be blocked. Many thanks for any help.
