Wise card and DD s

Hi
Can you please advise if you have s wise card can Direct debits be taken off the account. Solicitor is saying as a Belgian IBAN dds in Spain can't be taken from it

Hi sorry 1 more thing shes saying because it starts with BE thats a Belgian account and can't be used? Ate there different ones do you know ?

She is correct, an IBAN number starting with BE is Belgian, which is still in the EU, therefore CAN be used.
An IBAN starting GB is UK, which is not in in the EU, so can NOT be used.
I use Wise for direct debits to Hydragua and Iberdrola with no problems

I use my wise account to pay my hydraqua and Iberdrola bills and also my house and car insurance.

Many of us on this forum use Wise for direct debits, don't let your Solicitor distract you from this.
Using a Spanish bank for direct debits will cost you around €150 per annum in charges, there are no charges with the Wise account except small amounts for any transactions you make.
