We live in England and have an account with Caixa at La Zenia - the N332 Cabo Roig branch and not the VillaMartin branch. Despite our very best efforts we just can't send money from our Spanish account to another Spanish account. This used to be so straightforward with Bankia. We have WhatsApp'd and emailed and the advice has been useless. We can't find a number to call - does anybody have the number of La Zenia branch ? Could you share it with us ? Bankia used to have a dedicated English-speaking helpline which was excellent.

We've found Caixa hopeless since the takeover - and yes we do have the apps on our phones which have been no use whatsoever in this situation.

Thanks in advance

Dale

I transfer money regularly from the UK to my account with Sabadell but use Wise (formerly Transferwise). Quick and easy to use with excellent exchange rates and the funds are credited to my Spanish account in seconds:

https://wise.com/

There are other currency transfer companies if you do a quick search on Google.

Thanks John. I realise that my wording was a little misleading. I have no problem sending money to Spain. The issue today (all day 😱) is that we can’t transfer from our Spanish account to another Spanish account. The process is tortuous and then breaks down midway. Of course there is no number to call and the virtual advice is useless hence asking if anybody has the branch telephone number. Thanks for replying and I’ve changed the wording

I'm with Caixa and have in the past transferred money to a Sabadell account without issue so not sure what your problem is but I too would endorse Wise which you can use as an intermediary, and very probably at lower cost to boot.

Applying is very quick and easy and TBH for anyone needing to transfer money or buy/sell currency it's hard to think of any reason not to open an A/C!
