Hi everyone my name is Jane and on 7th January I will be moving to La Zenia for a month as a pre trial to perhaps spending the winter there. I will be primarily on my own and would be interested in meeting up with others to go walking or if there is a group that go sea swimming that I could join. I also enjoy Pilates if anyone knows of any classes. I would also be interested in any social occasions that may be taking place while I am there. I am also trying to learn Spanish so I would be interested in this too. Thanking you in advance Jane

Hello

Not sure what passport you hold Jane but if its a UK one, then 90days is the maximum you can stay, at any time -  maybe you call that the 'winter'. If you have a different passport then that rule will not apply..

January is a quiet month here with many holiday home owners not coming until it warms up, some groups/classes etc. dont resume until later on. The last Bank Holiday  fiesta day in Jan is on the 6th, 3 Kings Day so no more fiestas  that month.

You might hear from some walkers but sea swimmers.... brrrr I doubt.

Perhaps contact the Ayuntamiento (town hall)  which is in Playa Flamenca . when they fully reopen after the holidays and see if they have any info on Spanish  classes in January & also any gyms in the area for pilates

Cheers

Elinspain

I think what Elinspain means is if you hold either a EU/ EEA passport you don't have to worry about the 90day rule. But you must bear in mind if you stay beyond 90 days you will be known as 'illegal'. The following like will explain the rules:

Then you're all set. Still subject to 90 day rule and this link is appropriate to Irish citizens. Enjoy ypur stay.

Hi Jane, sounds like you're going to enjoy your stay. Maxx gym in Playa Flamenca, about 10/15 minutes walk from La Zenia, have pilates and yoga classes. You can see their timetable on their website. There are also Zumba classes in the mornings by the beach near the Correos in Playa Flamenca. Lovely coastal walk from La Zenia beach to Cabo Roig also, just walk along the path on the seafront.

Hi Jane.

Take a look at the Torrevieja Walking Group on meetup. They do various walks & have a mixture of residents & holidaymakers in the group.

Checkout this Meetup with Torrevieja Walking Group: https://meetu.ps/e/LHJpn/w1524/i

There us also a Facebook group for Costa Med Walking club Who meet at Lomas de Cabo on Tuesdays.

Good luck and enjoy your stay.
