Can anyone help please.  Iv got my S1 as a pensioner, and hubby will piggy back off mine,I believe I now we have to go to Torrevieja to get it stamped, we are in the process of getting residencia, Do we need residencia to get it stamped? If so, will the S1 form be sufficient for residencia application.

Hi AD,

Yes, your S1 is sufficient for residency - it confirms your entitlement to healthcare in Spain,  funded by the UK.

As La Zenia comes under Orihuela, I don't know whether you have to go to the INSS in Torrevieja to register your S1, but hopefully a member in that area will be able to advise.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thankyou for your reply, yes I believe it’s a trip to Torrevieja,as long as S1 form is sufficient for residency I may put that on a ‘to do later’ list

You need to take your S1 to the local INSS to get it checked out for being correct. You will then be given additional paperwork to take to your local clinic who will issue you with a SIP card and assign a doctor.

You will need to take your passport,  proof of residency (deeds or rental agreement) some offices require a padron which needs to be less than 3 months old. Photocopies of everything!!

It might be worth asking a local gestor if they will require any other paperwork as some areas differ in requirements.

Best of luck

Thankyou all,

Just be aware that you can't just turn up at an INSS office to get the paperwork you need, an appointment is required. Hope fully this might save you a wasted journey!

Kind regards, Steve

Taking deep breaths today, Decided to put INSS on hold atm whilst we sort out TIE. Iv got ehic card to use if need be for time being. There seems lots to do and we are facing a few hurdles even though we have someone helping us but sometimes his replies can take days
