In the wake of the events in Barcelona and other areas yesterday I believe it is important that we keep all those who have been caught up in the attacks in our thoughts and prayers and that we give thanks for all those involved in the emergency services, the  security forces and in the hospitals treating those injured. While we have faced attacks at home in the U.K. and across the continent we must stand together in the firm conviction that evil will never win.

I think it's equally important we are more vigilant and aware of our surroundings, especially in crowded area's (boulevard etc). It's so easy to be complacent and happy in the 'holiday' mode, but tragically these incidents are on the increase and likely to occur in the least expected places.

Don't let this frighten you away from enjoying yourselves, (this is what the swines want)...carry on but just be that little more aware of anything suspicious, if you are concerned....REPORT IT.

thoughts yes, prayers no. it is religion that is the root cause of all this carnage, please give it a miss.

Having spent some years in the middle east, you get know customs and stuff like that. The zealots (matawa) ALL wear beards. It's their uniform, if you like. Christ only knows why christian men grow the bloody things. If everyone shaved them off, at least it narrows down the potential perpetrators by sight. Not saying they are all extremists, but you can't argue with the facts as they are.
