We have contacted 3 recommended AC repairers but non have turned up to look at 1) a leaking pipe on an outside and 2) a noisy indoor unit

Does anyone know someone reliable who will actually come out and repair them?

The leaking pipe is possibly just a blockage on the outlet of the tray that collects the condensed water, and can usually be cleared with a bit of wire and judicious prodding, or even give the bottom of the pipe a good blow.

Is the Leaking pipe discharging water outside? If so this is perfectly normal, it is the condensation drain.

Is your a/c unit working (cooling) when you switch it on? Is the leaking pipe on an outside wall, connected some way to the indoor unit at one end, and either open or discharging into a drain at the other end? If this pipe is leaking at the open end then this, as Andrew65 states, is perfectly normal as will be the condensate pipe.

If the leak is not water, and not from the condensate pipe but elsewhere, then you may have a leak on the refrigerant pipe work, coil or compressor - these leaks will be dark in colour as they will be oil from within the system.

Before calling out an engineer, check if the unit is cooling, and confirm if it is clear water and not oil which is leaking. If these conditions are met, then you don’t need to do anything else?!
