Hi,
I am looking for some advice, i live full time in Spain have my own property and i still work offshore in the UK can i claim my tax back from
working in the UK and pay Spanish tax instead, if so where would i find a good English speaking accountant near Los Altos.

If you're resident in Spain then you don't have an option - you must pay tax here and, having done so for the first time, can then opt out of the Inland Revenue system.

With greatest of respect to Jim when it comes to income tax offshore workers are a special case and if you are a PAYE employee then in you will continue to pay your tax in UK but under the dual tax treaty should be able to offset it against your overall tax liability in Spain. There is no way around this and no way to 'opt out' with HMRC.

You're not alone and all too frequently those who really ought to know the rules can get it wrong, when I lived in France I had the same argument with my local tax inspector.
Actually it's very similar to the way UK government service pensions are paid where tax is always paid in UK.
