If you mean check the car over before the ITV then the last time I did it it cost 90 euro at a local one. If you want them to take it to an ITV centre it would depend on the car as charges are different for petrol and diesel.

However, you can't go to any garage to have the ITV done. It must be done at an ITV  station. The closest one to you would be the Torrevieja one which is along the CV905 heading towards San Luis and Quesada. You can make an appointment (quite difficult at the moment as their systems seem really mucked up) on the SITVAL site or simply turn up and wait. Usually better when they just open but you could have quite a long wait according to press reports.

Costs for the actual ITV are also on the SITVAL page but range from 44.19 for petrol to 55.54 for diesel.

A garage taking it would probably charge extra for the time as well.

Getting the car ready for ITV, taking the car for ITV and paying the ITV cost probably close to 200 euro.

Hi

It may not be the closest one but certainly easiest with little or no wait at San Pedro Del Pinatar. Follow the 332 until you get to Lidl, straight over the roundabout then off to the left.

Reception speak very good English and are helpful.

If you want a garage to check the car over and get it through the ITV (mot) Dream Hills Auto repairs are close to you. We have used them, mainly English staff

Hi

I also use San Pedro and have never had to wait for more than a few minutes.

Cheers

Why not take your car through the ITV test yourself? It's a little daunting the first time but the staff in ITV stations are used to non Spanish speakers. A couple of times the test mechanic has taken over and driven it through for me!

You never know, your car might pass and you'll have saved yourself a hefty garage bill. If it fails they show the required repairs on the paperwork. The garage then knows exactly what's required for a pass on the second run.

After 8 years I have enough Spanish to get by, yes the first couple of times were a bit stressful but really it isn't that hard....
