Furniture removal

Hi
We are arriving in Los Altos later this month to take possession of a property we have just purchased. We are still living in the uk so are flying over to do some DIY and take stock of what needs to be done. We know there is some outdoor furniture which needs to be disposed off ( not good enough to offer for free on market place ) Is there a council facility for this? Is there a private service for this? We are only there for one week so would like to be able to organise this in advance if possible. Thank you for any suggestions regarding in this. Francesca
