Hello,

If its anything like the last lockdown, we don't  hear  "rumours" - It was announced on  Saturday night, active the next day- Sunday (where I live) & official lockdown was on the Monday!

At the moment it's all ok but things can change very quickly here.

The virus is spreading rather rapidly at the moment and more restrictions have been imposed. Unlike the UK we here in Spain are not given several weeks notice but rather a couple of hours!!

Thank you for reply, it’s just that we were there in March when the last lockdown happened and we had to get a rescue flight back after a week, don’t want that to happen again

Rescue flight?  How was that arranged?   Just wondering just in case !!  I’m here until 8 Oct and hoping things stay as they are.  Fingers crossed.

They cancelled our return flight once lockdown happened, so we had to get on one of the flights going back to UK a week earlier then originally arranged.

Steve. Totally unnecessary comment and untrue.

Why do you feel the need to go on and on about the U.K.  the person asked a question about the possibility of lockdown in a town in Spain, she did not ask for further negative comments about the U.K.   I am sick of it. It’s so depressing. Everyone is trying to get through this pandemic and negative comments are the last thing I personally want to hear or read. I ask you to please leave the U.K. out of it Unless it is necessary.

Grannyrose....My comments were very true that the virus is spreading rather rapidly at the moment!! Otherwise why have more restrictions been imposed?

What is not true about that comment?...or are you in denial that the virus is not as dangerous as made out.?

The comment about the UK was also true as Boris will give two weeks warning of any restrictions being introduced whereas here ( as you are very well aware) restrictions can be imposed within hours which the OP needs to be made aware of so to make a decision regarding travel.

Finally...

I'm not into sugar coating answers to important questions from posters who want genuine advice.

You have no idea what you are saying. People all over the UK are under a type of lockdown which is confusing pretty much every one including poor old Boris.  At the moment, the people in part of Wales, the north of England and Northern Ireland are subjected to the weirdest rules which are necessary but very difficult to come to terms with. We are not allowed to have anybody in our homes. Only 6 people in the garden but they must be from only 2 households. Restaurants are having their rules changed so often that it is nigh impossible to keep up to date with the rules.  Where you are in Spain, you are living the dream and a mask us all you are required to wear.

It was like that here until about 3 weeks ago and suddenly all hell let loose. The same all over Scotland, England and Wales. Please watch yourselves as it will more than likely come your way and it could be with a vengeance. Don’t make jokes about our Prime Minister and the rules. It is common knowledge that the man is still far from well and is putting a brave face on. Covid 19 left him unwell and anyone else would have gone on the “sick” but he was obliged to return to work almost immediately.

This darned pandemic isn’t funny. I’d like to say that everyone is doing his/ her best but we are all human beings and sometimes forget what is expected of us.

It is clear to see that many people do not want to follow any sort of rules. Watch the news. Crowds leaving pubs and staying in the street having a street party. Everyone has heard about the dangers but not everyone wants to behave or to believe what we are being told.
