Any recommendations for private healthcare please, companies. Would be useful if pre-existing conditions are covered.

I can highly recommend ASSSA, although you may well be struggling with pre-existing conditions whichever company you choose.

Not yet John, have a place in Mil Palmras, and looking to move there. Just checking out insurance companies. Have Irish Passport.

Once you have been officially resident in Spain for 12 months you can apply to join the Convenio Especial. For a monthly fee of €60, if you are under 65 years old and €157 if you are 65 or above and this will give you the same access to the Spanish Health Service as Spanish nationals. However, you will have to meet the full cost of prescriptions. Register on the Padron as soon as you arrive and this will get the clock ticking.
