271935 ...Thanks for your advice if it is aimed at me, but I have what I believe is an abscess on my tooth and will be visiting the dentist tomorrow. I do not misuse antibiotics,the last time I was prescribed them by the doctor was about 5 years ago, so I doubt very much that I will have built up a resistance to them.

Not directed at anyone.

I despair at the Spanish system where you can buy antibiotics. 

The amount of patients I argue with because I won't issue antibiotics.

If I practiced in Spain they could ignore my advice and buy them or worse still self diagnose and medicate
