Herd immunity then? Please provide source for “people need to understand the additional deaths over and above the daily “norm” is very small”

A potty mouthed person like this may save your life one day, are you that ignorant that you don’t understand her rant, sorry I forgot all you want is statistics, here’s one statistic for you my cousin was one of many who died last week from this virus and we can’t have a proper funeral, we ...

I think you should follow your own advice from your previous post "people who make comments don’t think properly before making them". I don't get the correlation between someone posting using offensive language and their ability to save someones life?
If I understand you correctly you are suggesting that because someone works for the NHS (in whatever role?) they have a licence to use gratuitously rude language on this forum e.g. "Dodster - what the fuck are you talking about?" and that anyone who objects to such language is an ignorant fool. Not sure you've really thought that through.
Also, as a retired police officer I would have hoped you would support keeping these discussions civilised and shown a better example than simply resorting to personal abuse. Finally, condolences on the death of your cousin.

I thought about my comments very carefully and I stand by them,If you have worked in an environment we’re physical contact and abuse is a daily occurrence then being polite to these people does not work you talk to them on there level, the original post was a (rant) statement against people who are not listening or won’t listen to the rules set by the government and therefore she is at more risk because of these people, and that risk passes to all essential workers and eventually onto us. She’s probably working long shifts and taking her frustration out in general but you come back wanting facts statistics and telling her that not all NHS are working flat out. You have no idea what these people are going through and to criticise her language is uncalled for. And if you still don’t get the correlation between using offensive language and saving someone’s life then I believe you must have lived a very sheltered life. What is or was your occupation.
That was a much more reasoned and civil response. Thank you. I'm a retired GP. I'll leave that for you to judge how sheltered or otherwise that is/was.
There’s a great deal of research into the benefits of swearing, most of it linked to relieving stress. I’m sure most people on the front line, dealing directly or indirectly with the effects of Coronavirus, are feeling some degree of stress

Oh, and on the subject of reduced workload, my GP surgery is closed.
My friend is a GP practice manager. They are all actually “in work” but the practice is closed
I understand (no stats to offer tho’) that most, if not all GP surgeries in my home town are closed
I’m curious about what they’re doing
Sorry, I should have added that you can access surgeries to some degree but only after a telephone grilling by either a receptionist or a GP to determine if a visit is really necessary.

Being a retired GP I would have thought you would have understood her frustration and the use of language,I bow down to your superior knowledge of the NHS and respect your profession, but we live in strange times, there has been a lot of amateur experts popping up who know nothing but spread their propaganda of doom and gloom and at a time like this we need to hear the positive news as well as the reality of this devastating virus.
Keep safe everyone

Jim did mention to Admin Alex that the post could be edited as appropriate. These are just words. Words can't hurt physically but the virus can so I think it can be given a free pass.
