Elche General University Hospital - Wi-Fi
Legendary helpful member
Like several other hospitals, Elche General have free Wi-Fi available to patients in the hospital, which by extension means that this is also available to those visiting hospital patients.
As a patient, you can obviously just ask one of the staff if they would make the connection for you, but hopefully this post will mean you don't need to ask and can do it yourself.
Whatever version of Android or iOS you are running, you just need to go into Settings and navigate to the Wi-Fi section.
Your mobile will scan for available networks and will find several, but you need to tap on WI-FI-SANITAT.
You then need to enter the key (password - clave) for that network, and this is:
wsanitat
That will connect you to the Wi-Fi network, but not to the internet.
A screen will appear with a lot of informative information, and you need to scroll down to the end of that. There is a very small and innocuous box by 'He leido...'. You need to click on that box to put a tick in it, then click on 'Aceptar'.
That then connects you to the internet, and away you go.
The only problem I have found is that, if you don't continue to use the internet and allow your mobile to go to sleep, then every time you wake it up you will have to redo the 'He leido...' and 'Aceptar' stages.
In spite of this minor annoyance, it's a great way of being able to use the web, and to keep in touch of people without incurring any cost.
If anyone has experience of free Wi-Fi at other hospitals, then please post details similar to the above so that patients and their visitors can have the benefit of that knowledge.
