We are buying a house and wonder if anyone recommends using currency exchange (or similar). I’m also wondering how you pay to use them. We already have a Wise account, but it’s harder to send large amounts of cash.

We use HI FX and haven't had any issues. You pay for the service by getting a very slightly lower rate of transfer. With large amounts it's best to check with your bank as some charge a "landing fee" if I remember correctly we sent £10k at a time and weren't charged anything.

I use Currency Fair.

They charge 3 Euros per transaction, deducted from the amount paid to you. The exchange rate is unaffected.

I also exchanged in batches of 10k Euros at a time, for my peace of mind.

It shouldn’t be an issue using Wise.

Pay any monies directly to your independent solicitor/abogado bank account, where in time these funds then can be paid to the seller, this will save on any bank fees for large amounts, at the time we used currencies direct, but found out later Wise gave a higher exchange rate.

We used Currencies Direct. No fees and very security conscious to make sure your online deposits are protected. Set up a rate alert and buy your euros at the rate you wanted then keep them in CD wallet until you're ready to transfer. Very easy to transfer over the phone too if you have problems online. Offices in UK and Spain and always call when they promise they will.

I'd recommend them!

We use Currencies Direct.  If you need to send more than 25k give them a call and they can arrange a better rate of transfer and can also lock in a rate so that when it reaches that rate its automatically sent.

We used GC partners Im sure they are based in punta prima. Great rate and great service

We bought last year and was worried about transferring large amounts but they made the process really easy

Wise will always give you the best rate better then any other exchange company.
