Best advice is to buy through a dealer as they will complete all the changeover ownership papers for you, service the car, provide a warranty, obtain an ITV ( MOT ) and help with arranging insurance.

I agree with John, but would also suggest you get the dealer to supply an 'informe' on the vehicle, which will tell you about any outstanding charges/fines on it.

We were recommended to the Peugeot garage in Palmera and cannot fault their service. They are helpful but their spoken English is limited.

If you can afford it and you intend to stay in spain for a long period I would strongly advise you buy a new car from a franchised dealer, car histories and second hand dealers vary dramatically here altering the milage is a huge problem as are some dealers.also check the second hand prices they are ridiculous if you want a proper warranty and peace of mind buy new but dont expect a discount most dealers expect the screen price you may get a set of mats if your lucky.
