Is there any reason behind the 3pm chimes from the Church Bells. As, any other hour we get the 4 chimes then the 3 for the hour then a repeat, but then a repeat, then a repeat and another repeat ?????.......

If it's a Catholic Church a special ringing may indicate a 3pm call to prayer. 3pm is when it is believed Jesus died on the cross.

Some ring every hour. They indicate a time of prayer. 3pm is one of the hours designated for the “Liturgy of the Hours” prayers, which often include scripture readings, the Rosary, and the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy.

No, seriously, it is a call to prayer for Catholics. Bell peals at 2.45 as a prep / warning and then at 3 to announce prayer time.
