We were fed that chestnut, " it's not the box it's your internet" they chant it like a mantra, bit like if you say it often enough people will believe it.
All I ever wanted was a system I could switch on and watch some hope.
Perhaps the issue was simply you were unlucky who you deal with in the first place?
As I previously stated, using a best-case example of Netflix tripping from time to time, whilst is the case internet is not always stable and can cause issues (statement of fact from someone employed in IT), it's also absolutely true that a bad service provider, is simply just that - TV or internet wise.
Enough cowboys about selling rubbish - whether it be TV or anything else for that matter. However, it is wrong to assume 'all are same', as that is simply like saying all cars are the same - massive variation in service, price etc - it would seem you may have found this out already ;-)
I'd still suggest with everyone, that if they have a smartphone and can set it to a mobile hotspot, which they in turn can connect their internet TV service to, instead of their home internet, this will give a 2nd internet connection to test, in order to establish if the problem is with the internet, or with the TV service provider - up until you have tested equipment on different internet connection, it is not always possible to see if it is an ISP or TV company issue.
Of course, UK Sky is available via satellite and subscription also, which can bypass the need for internet for live TV - but it would seem that many do not like the idea of paying over £100 a month for premium type content with sports.
