Hi, AVE high speed train from Alicante 2hrs 30 mins, cost depends how many passengers, how long in advance you are booking and which class, we travelled party of 4 1st class booked 3 months in advance total cost return was 180 euros, including snacks and drinks for all of us

It's probably quicker to get the local train from Orihuela to Alicante, then catch the AVE to Madrid.
