Orihuela train station Ticket Office Opening times

Tarjeta dorada is or was available from travel agents mine took 5mins online they charged 10 e  6 + 4 Como perhaps  they didn't like their share or wanted to book train at same time to justify working

Thanks that’s what we understood and tried and failed so our options are Alicante train station or Orihuela train station which is closer.  It is not available online but you can renew online once you have a card which can only be bought from train station or Travel agents (except ours in Pilar!). Any info on my original question much appreciated as we are happy to travel but don’t want a wasted journey if the station is not manned.  Thanks again.  

Update for anyone else who is also looking to do what we did.  Because we didn’t get any information on the forum we chanced it and drove to Orihuela train station.  It was manned and took 5 minutes to hand over our TIE (Residence card) and 6€ For each card.  The card is more like a thick piece of paper about the thickness of the tickets you get out of a machine like at Alicante Airport …..we though for one year it would be like a credit card or the British Rail discount card in the U.K….  it will be easily creased or chewed up by the dog so best keep it somewhere it will not get too damaged.   If driving to Orihuela train station there is paid parking opposite the station and very cheap 30c for 30 minutes ….you don’t need more than 30 mins.  You can pay cash or credit card.  You have to enter your car registration number and you will see on the screen the various parking rates - they are not posted anywhere so you only know what the rates are once you put your car registration in.
Hope this helps anyone else trying to get the card and can’t get it at their local travel agents.
