Does anyone know the rules regarding dashboard warning lights for purposes of ITV? I purchased a car last year which I have yet to use and was advised that there were two warning lights but no fault codes could be found.

It is now due its ITV and wondering whether there’ll be any issues getting this passed?

Do you know which lights are illuminated? Having two lit up is a bit strange. Either way it will need to be rectified for the ITV as it will fail.

It’s the service light (spanner) and the coil pack light as you will see from the attached photos. It had these when it went through ITV as part of sale to me I am told.  Also been advised that there was no fault codes associated with these warning lights.

That makes a difference. Is it a diesel Vauxhall?

The symbol on the left is telling you that it needs a service, that light can be reset, google the make, model and year of your car along with "turn off service light" and there will be a way of turning it off.

The symbol on the right is for the diesel preheat glow plug, it shouldn't really come on here as it isn't needed and it is telling you there is a problem somewhere, if whoever checked it said there are no fault codes I'd imagine they haven't got the right diagnostic kit.

It should go through the ITV with those illuminated, but they really need to be sorted out.

Yes, It is a diesel Vauxhall. Hopefully it gets through the ITV and I can get it looked at properly when next out in Spain.

Do you have any recommendations on someone who could look at this in the future when I next get out to Spain?

We have a failed sensor which results in a tyre pressure warning. The tyres are fully inflated and our car passed the ITV as it did an MOT before it.
