I am non resident but make frequent trips to my holiday home in Punta Prima. My U.K. blue badge booklet states that in parts of Spain I can use my blue badge in disabled parking spaces. But I have been told that this is not applicable in Orihuela Costa and Torrevieja since brexit and I could face a heavy fine if we’re to use a space. Has anyone experienced problems . Any advice would be helpful.

UK blue badges are no longer valid in Spain. However, some local municipalities allow the use so it depends on your local council. The UK government advises you to print out the certificate at this link and place it next to your blue badge but it does not guarantee you will not be fined although I've never heard of anyone who has been.

Also remember that a disabled parking bay with a car registration number on it is for that particular car only so don't park in one of them.

Thank you for your rapid response. I won’t take any chances and will leave my badge at home. A very helpful forum as usual.
