Hi,
We are considering moving out within the next 4 or 5 years.
Our daughter will be 15/16 by then.
Can anyone give me an insight on wether there is such a thing as a youth club/centre etc so she would make friends?
Obviously it’s a huge thing for her and a worry for us that she has lots of friends so we want to be able to start helping her get friends each time we visit our holiday home until we are ready to move.

If you have 4 or 5 years to play with, the single best thing you can do for your daughter is for her to learn Spanish. The Orihuela Costa area has a large retired population and her age group will be in the minority. The best place she is likely to find friends is with a job (assuming she will take her GCSEs in UK) and unless she wants to work in a British bar, her opportunities will be severely limited without. If she wants to learn to drive, everything will be in Spanish as you cannot take your kids out for driving lessons here.
Outside of school holidays, especially in the winter, it is likely that any ex pats of your daughter's age will have grown up in the area and speak fluent Spanish and mix mainly with Spanish friends they have met in school. Try to visit during February half term which is going to be the quietest school holiday of the year and you will get an idea of what it is like in tourist areas from November through to end April (excluding school holidays).
Unemployment is much higher in Spain, for all ages, and pay is much lower. Orihuela Costa residents pay a huge amount of funds into the coffers and get very little back.
