I'm sorry, Gaz, but Ray and I are posting accurate information as we currently know it.  What you and/or Despegue hope/want to happen is your personal opinion.  If something is yet to be resolved, both Ray and I will say so, but your statement,

"This I think we can take this as read.NO VISAS NEEDED FOR BRITS (in case that's confusiung to some as this debate on here is taking every cul-de-sac under the Sun/Sol haha)" sic ...

...

is not helpful and, as things currently stand, does not accurately describe the proposed arrangements.  I would suggest it's you and Despegue that are "confusing to some".

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kimmy

There's nothing 'personal' in what I am quoting. Not sure why personal issues needs to be brought in - it's facts and I have given many sources. I have no opinion on the matter. I do note a lot of anti-British sentiment on here. No idea why but I m not stooping that low and will not be brought down to that level so if you take my disagreement as anything other than my belief based on what I have read then that is your issue to deal with. I will not be drawn into your arguments. Nor Rays..;.no offence Ray but on this one you are wrong/is wishful thinking.

What I have said is clear and I am only quoting EU officials on this matter. FACTS.

As the old saying goes, don't shoot the messenger.

Enough said - I am correct and there is no more you can say/needs to be said.

Ray that's WHAT I SAID !!!!

Then we have no disagreement over the outcome which will be Brits won't need VISAS. They will have a waiver as will 60 other countries. Which part of what I said before this that you repeated do you have an issue with?

*can we agree that we agree now? LOLLLOL

I refer the hon. Gentleman to the reply that I gave some moments ago.

Ray it is ALWAYS a better look to those observing to admit when wrong and learn from errors or when you have been corrected with evidence. Anything other than this or to double down is very immature, You must see that?

Oh dear...

As some of my family members actually DO need a Schengen visa, I can guarantee that obtaining a Visa is an entirely different animal than what visa-waived tourists need to comply with 🙄

Anybody saying otherwise has really no idea at all what they are talking about.

The EU has NO PLANS to introduce a Visa requirement for UK tourists. FULL STOP. Also  Read my previous comments regarding residency which are correct, except that they are valid for Schengen tourists, not for UK citizens.

Stop it RayD, you are giving false information to forum members.

Hi. Ray can be helpful but reading his past posts he is, to put it politely, anti-British. However, this forum to HELP others not to mislead them based on your own past personal gripes and bad experiences. It just causes confusion. So to be clear and this is from the Spanish authorities.

NO VISA SYSTEM IS PLANNED. IN FACT THE PLAN IS FOR A VISA WAIVER ETIAS SYSTEM

IT WILL COST 7 EUROS AND LAST 3 YEARS

BRITISH CITIZENS WILL BE ALLOWED TO STAY 90 DAYS IN EVERY 180 DAYS

99% OF TRAVELLERS WILL NOT EVEN NOTICE ANY CHANGES.

There's some very bitter and twisted selfish older people on here who feel in all places the tourist destination of the world (SPAIN) will shut their doors to tourists so they themselves can live the Brit-free dream in their twilight retirement years. This is NEVER going to happen. To say this will is 1. A LIE and 2. UNHELPFUL TO THOSE WHO USE THIS SITE TO GARNER INFORMATION.

There is in 2023 (2023 is the new date as technical delays have arisen) 60 countries around the world inc.UK, South Africa, USA, Canada etc etc who will have VISA waiver and will be subject to ETIAS when travelling to the Schengen area. PERIOD.

So in bold I repeat: NO VISAS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR UK TRAVELLERS - WE ARE AND WILL BE VISA EXEMPT

Best regards

Gaz
