Hi guys,

This forum has been invaluable with up to date information about renting out property in Spain. I am in the process of applying for a Tourist Licence and see that the new form has a new line on it, which I am struggling to get the full implication of.

Can anyone tell me what 'CSV del informe favorable de compatabilidad urbanistica municipal' means?

I really appreciate your input.

Best Wishes,
Meryl

CSV is Código Seguro de Verificación. It's a number that enables a document to be identified electronically.

I'd guess that the town hall compatibility certificate will have a CSV number, and entering that number on the application form will enable Valencia to verify the compatibility certificate online.

When a CSV is used in such a way, it's a means of spotting whether or not someone has forged a compatibility certificate.

Hi Jim,

Following my question of last week, I can see that you are very knowledgeable about Tourist Licences. We are just learning and would really appreciate your input.

Could you just confirm that we need to have an inspection of our property, which gives us a CSV number, and then we apply for the licence?

We want to do the right thing, but because we are not living in Spain, the information does vary. I have read up on information on this site so I do have some knowledge.

Thank you so much,

Meryl Grant

Sorry, I know nothing about tourist licenses. I'm not reinventing the wheel, and leave the topic to the acknowledged experts Davebev1.

You do need approval by your town hall, and that approval document will have a CSV number on it, which Valencia can use to check that the town hall have in fact given their OK.

Brilliant Jim. I have read Dave's article but I am just trying to get the information straight in my head.

Thank you for your help.
