Prescription

Hi Ian,

We're not supposed to go to clinics unless it's an emergency.  For prescriptions, you have to phone your clinic, they will update your prescription on their computer system and then you go direct to the pharmacy to collect it.  This procedure was put in place when we went into lockdown.

We are not on state healthcare we are still in the eu until december and have our e11 which entitles us to healthcare, our country is still paying Spain for this. I find your reply's very offensive and not helpful at all

Your E11 is ONLY for emergency treatment not a means for illegal immigrants to milk the system.

We have not been doing anything ilegal we have been in touch with our solicitor for advice, we find your reply very insulting

I'm sorry, I didn't see the original thread, but if what the guys have described as your circumstances are correct, then you've been lucky to get away with free prescriptions for so long.  

If you live permanently in Spain, you should have Residencia and, depending on your age, either receive reciprocal healthcare by way of qualifying for an S1 (if you're a pensioner), or pay for private health insurance (if you're not yet a pensioner).  

Using the EHIC (formerly the E111) is to provide cover for short periods when you're away from your home country, on the basis that any ongoing treatment will be continued as soon as you return home.

If you've taken advice from a 'solicitor' (UK or Spain?), then either you've been ill-informed, or that advice was based on circumstances you haven't shared on the forum.

Happy to try and help if there's something you want to add that may be relevant, but on the basis of what you've said previously, I'm afraid it doesn't sound hopeful.
