Hi

Had anyone successfully transferred your own water account from the previous owners ? If so how and what documents are needed for a non resident without being switched off.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Thanks

This should have been done by your solicitor.

Get them onto it.

Your best bet is to go and speak to them, if you aren't in Spain phone.

Otherwise you'll be paying someone else to do it.

For information, in Valencia the water company here need a Certificate of First Occupation, attached is a screenshot of the first page of the contract change page.

Do you mean call the water company ? Is there a charge for the certificate of first occupation?

Yes, speak to the water company. That's the contract that you want changed, they are the only people who can do it.

I don't know if there's a charge, but, knowing how things work here I'd be very surprised if there wasn't.

If you know them, it might be worth asking the sellers solicitor if they have any paperwork relating to the sale. It's possible that they had a certificate, only possible though.
