Is it possible to register with a doctor in Pego, much as one would have a GP in the UK, if so how? Any recommendations?

You need to be resident to do that but unlike the UK you cannot  choose which public medical centre you register with, that's determined by where you live.

When resident and you get your SIP card you also get allocated to a specific doctor at that centre although you might be able to switch to different one there after, we switched to one who spoke English.

If you are not resident then you are free to go where you like - but privately and pay of course.

For once I disagree with Movington. We come under Orihuela, and when we registered our S1 forms, INSS in Orihuela did recommend a medical centre there. However, we're a lot nearer to Rafal, and when we asked if we could register there, there wasn't any problem. As I understand it, you can ask to be treated at any medical centre, although they are entitled to refuse this.

if you're not a resident with entitlement to an S1, then all you can do is ask. Some medical centres will give you a temporary SIP card, and some will send you on your way rejoicing.
