Does anybody know what is causing the 24/7/365 whining noise that constantly permeates the countryside around Pego.

It’s impossible to get away from and is worse at night.

I find it so annoying and it drives me crazy at night.

Could it be the local farmer working? We get a whining noise all through the night when the weather is too hot for him to work in the fields during the day, not sure what the machinery is but it does make quite a loud noise and we can see him in the distance as he has floodlights on his tractor.

LOL 😂

Yes indeed Steve, the whining noise does tend to be irritating if you tune into its resonance and seems to eminent  widely from different factions.

Best just to leave all things with a whine to wear itself out, usually it just goes away given time. Most of these types of incredulous sounds are caused by something whose existence & sole purpose is to make annoying noises anyway. 😏

It is probably a combination of the machines working in the rice fields and background noise from the AP7 and the N332

This noise is real.

It is NOT farm machinery.

It's pitch is near to a G note on a piano or guitar which tends to coincide with a generator or turbine revolving at 3000rpm which would produce AC current at 50 Hertz.

It never stops.

I've been here 5 years and it's never stopped.

If nobody else can hear it, then I must have super sensitive hearing!

I can't sleep because of it.

It is so loud, It drowns out music I try to play at home.

I can't believe nobody else can hear it!

There is no getting away from it and it seems much louder on the mountains!

I feel that I can no longer live here because of it.

Pego would be a lovely place if only the noise would stop.

There is nothing wrong with me!

I'm just a normal person with normal hearing.

Surely someone else must be able to hear it!

It's deafening at night!

🤔 mmmm..

‘Its pitch is near to a G note on a piano or guitar which tends to coincide with a generator or turbine revolving at 3000rpm which would produce AC current at 50 Hertz.’

Thats VERY specific 😳

Only trying to help… have you had a checkup for Tinnitus?..

Most people who have tinnitus have subjective tinnitus, or tinnitus that only you can hear. The noises of tinnitus may vary in pitch from a low roar to a high squeal, and you may hear it in one or both ears. In some cases, the sound can be so loud it interferes with your ability to concentrate or hear external sound. Tinnitus may be present all the time, or it may come and go.

It's definitely not tinnitis!

When I go away from Pego, the noise stops.

It's just around Pego.

It's easier to hear inside a vehicle, caravan, shed or other building than it is outside.

The wind and other noises outside drown it out but it can still be heard outside when it's still and quiet.

If I visit my friend in Oliva, there is no noise.

Try sitting in a parked car half way up the mountain and tell me you can't hear it!

It's so loud on the mountain.

It's so loud and can be heard over such a wide area that the real source of the noise must be producing a very loud noise.

I'm going to take a back pack up there to see if I can locate the source because it is so loud there, the source must be near by.
