Hi

I have read a couple of articles regarding replacing our residencias with TIE's, and am now confused (it doesn't take much)

Ours are dated 12/03/2019

Do we have to replace these, and if so in what time span would this be

I realise that deal or no deal may be a factor

Mant thanks

Bill

We are holders of the old style green cards, our understanding is there is no need to swap for the TIE.

It is something we will look into at some stage, unless the situation changes and forces our hands.

Just hope the Spanish have a system in place for all the extra work involved.

There's no requirement to change. If that advice is updated there will be plenty publicity about it.

Some are changing just to get a biometric version.

I'm hoping that once the current roll out and backlog at Alicante is over, the system might be simpler, available at more local police stations, and on a one visit does it all solution rather than the current two visits that are required. Nothing to lose by waiting.

A one visit solution would require either local production of TIE cards or a secure and reliable postal system to send them out neither of which are likely prospects any time in the foreseeable future!

How cheery...🥳... such positivity..😁

I didn't say it would happen. I suggested mainly the reason for waiting is that i dont have into swap at this time. In 9 months time when I do want to swap the process might be available 8 miles away instead of 60.
