If you re-enter the Schengen area on 03-10-2022, you can stay 80 days until 21-12-2022.

If you re-enter the Schengen area on 08-10-2022, you can stay 90 days until 05-01-2023.

I guess it depends on what part of the country your coming from. From St.Malo it would take at least 2 days to get to Spain. you would need one overnight stay and you'd need to travel quickly. I would plan 2 nights staying over mid-way through France and another close to the border before driving on to your destination. I've done it a couple of times staying over with friends in the Dordogne then stopping close to the Spainish border before driving down Cabo Roig. It's a long way.

Maureen, if your driving from St Malo to Spain it’s about 450 miles, very easily to do in a day on the French toll roads. Although that would depend on where you want to enter Spain. We do the journey 3 return trips a year.

We head off from Rouen after an overnight stay, our next stop is St Jean De Luz which is just before the Spanish border, and is 500 miles from Rouen, we stop at least every 2 hours for the dogs. We stay at the B&B hotel which is very close to the motorway but very quiet, they take dogs.

The following day it’s 500 miles again to our place near Alicante.

Hope this helps

Best plan is to get a Schengen calculator app on your phone. This will enable you to record your days in the Schengen zone and will automatically forecast the number of days you have available at any time in the future. I use Schengen Calculator Free by MSSDevLab.
