Hi Annemarie here hope everyone is safe and well.

My partner ended up in hospital in September due to a blood clot and dementia.   He was on his front at home on his bed and tried to get up but was not able to do so.    Got to hospital great service but had fractured his left hand in two places.   This was bandaged up but has now no use of this hand.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend where I could go to get a second opinion, as original hospital says he is on a waiting list but cannot give a date because of the virus (which is understandable).

Firstly, was his wrist immobilised by Plastering or Bandages? Are they still in place? Are the tips of his fingers cold or other exposed parts of the hand. If, you feel they are cold you must go to A & E and get it reassessed. Otherwise I would expect little use of the hand/wrist as it mends, as that is why it is bandaged. If you have any doubts you must go to A & E or your nearest Nurse/ Doctor.
