Are these now open?

Is it a free for all or is it booking only depend on how long the ITV has been out of dat?

If you'd read recent posts on the forum, you'd know that they've been open since last Monday.

An appointment is essential.

Assuming your ITV expired during the lockdown, you've got 30 days from last Monday to pass the test.

Thank you for your note. I seem to have caused you some frustration by not explaining the circumstances behind my enquiry. I am a fully legal resident of Spain who has been stranded in the UK since 27th March. With the guidance of The Spanish Embassy in London I am returning to my home this week by road. I am fully aware upon arrival I will be entering self isolation for 15 days. I have a car at home which I would use in order to purchase essentials such as food as I will be allowed to do but it required an ITV at the end of March. The Embassy informed me earlier today that an an extension of 30 days has been granted for ITVs from the end of the State of Alarm which currently stands as 24th May. I was also told an additional extension of 15 days  to the 30 days is being considered if the State of Alarm is extended into June. The Embassy also advised me that some but not all ITV stations are open and if one was open in my area it would be advisable to book an appointment for sometime after my isolation finishes rather than wait until the end of the State of Alarm when the extension period will begin. Thus my hasty enquiry as I leave early Wednesday morning and wanted to know if the stations locally are open and if they are operating an appointment only system. Your comment of 30 days since last Monday (11th?) would actually make it almost impossible to achieve an ITV. I will have to contact the DGT once home for guidance on my situation.

Hi Mike, my sympathies for your situation. I must admit that the start date of the 30 day period of grace is open to interpretation, and I was just giving the safest interpretation. The other interpretation is that it starts after the end of the state of alarm, which is obviously some way off yet. I honestly don't think you'll have a problem, and in the slight case you were stopped on the way for an ITV, I very much doubt if you'd be penalised if you were to show an appointment.

All the ITV stations in this area are open again, although at the moment they're adapting the way they do the tests to ensure maximum safety for staff and customers. In your case, I assume Pilar de la Horadada or Torrevieja would be most convenient, so make an appointment here:

Good luck with the return journey.
