Hi , this my first time doing anything like this so here goes !

I have visited campoverde a number of times over the past 3yrs and really like the thought of selling up here in the uk and moving permanently to Spain and would really appreciate any help or advice you guys could give me. I’m not sure what the work situation is like your end but I’m a tradesman who is multi skilled mainly plumbing/electrical/ tiler etc and I’m always busy here in the uk but like the idea of moving to campoverde and having no mortgage and perhaps working a little less , I have an Irish and English passport and I’m told the Irish passport will make things easier? Also is it realistic to be able to buy a nice 3 bed villa with a pool for around £200,000 give or take ?

I know there are a few questions here and believe me I’ve got loads more but I’m really trying to gauge is what I would like to do possible and would really value advice from you guys that have done it.

Look forward to reading your thoughts,  thank you 😄

Irish passport  make life a lot easier  if  moving  to Spain 🇪🇸  A  private  Swimming pool  is expensive  luxury   needs  Regular  maintenance  and like feeding  a hunger Elephant  with money.

There  is 100,s of Builders in the area, some  well established  ones,  every  man  is a Painter , most communities  nearby  all have there man to go too for maintenance  work, I think  you  would be starting  from scratch  on a  Crowded  field, but Tilers are in demand,  Building  is different  than UK,  not  much Timber  work involved,

Before  you purchase,  it is strongly  advised  to Rent  before you  Buy, as mistakes  can cost  Thousands

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post, renting first has been mentioned to me and is probably what I will do mainly to see if it’s definitely right for me and the family , as for work yes I agree I’ll be starting from scrat

Check out working as an "autonomo" (self employed) as its a lot more complicated than it is in the UK...... in terms of submitting tax returns, for example

Work in Spain is different from work in UK. I asked a spanish tradesman - builder about gardening. He said he didn't have a garden as he hardly sees his family. He was autonomo, working 6-7 days through season. Much less money, you can earn in UK.

Forget about working less in Spain you will need to work harder for longer to maintain even a basic lifestyle. The laid back lifestyle shown on the tv shows only exists if you don’t need to work and have enough money to sustain you.

I have found having a pool to be not that expensive to run, easy to keep on top of the maintenance cleaning once a week in summer less so in autumn/winter. Bear in mind that if you are lucky you may get 3 months use out of your pool in the warmer months throughout the year.

Yes I’ve been told being self employed in Spain is a nightmare and I’m better off working for someone, again honest information and I appreciate it , thank you 👍

Wow that is very interesting, I certainly would not want to be doing that ,that’s what I’m trying to escape!
