Hi

We have a holiday home in Campoverde and are here until end July.

We are taking a weeks trip in Spain soon and I have been ill for about 2 weeks which is wearing me down and I need to get better for it.

Can I seek advice at the medical centre for a persistent racking cough although we are not registered with a doctor? I also have a head cold.

I’ve discovered my EHIC has expired and have ordered a new one but it will be in my UK house.

Can I pay for any consultation/treatment and does anyone have any idea of costs.

Thanks

I have only just become a resident here in Campoverde.  I needed to see a GP just before Christmas and I went to see a private doctor in the village.  She is German but speaks English and I was very impressed.  Consultation, including examination cost 35 euros, plus she prescribed me antibiotics (which cost me 62 euros!).  I can provide you with her contact details should you need them...

Dr Miguel Alvarez Pastora (sounds Spanish and male but she isn’t!), Calle del Lirio, 60 - Urb, Pinar de Campoverde.  Tel: 966 76 29 36.

As you drive along Avenida del Pino towards the shops and restaurants, you turn left before the church, by the car sales office.

I had an accident in December and between one doctors and the hospital I lost my EHIC , I was given a number to get a temporary (card ) emailed to me . which I was able to use on my phone . I haven't got the number any more.

I paid at the hospital then went back a few days later with temporary card and they refunded me the money a few weeks later.

try googleing

Went to doc you recommended this morning. Lovely lady who speaks good English. Not long to wait. I have bronchitis and have antibiotics,  vitamins and minerals so fingers crossed it’s not viral and they work

Many thanks again
