As a resident would you not be in the same position as driving a car on a UK license if pulled up by the guardia? After all a moped is a motorised vehicle that as far as I know requires the correct Spanish license. I would check with authorities before risking it.

Correct, a licence is valid - or not - for all or nothing.

If you are a resident you will need to take a Spanish driving test as your uk licence will soon be invalid.

How about an electric bicycle? I understand Hugh Elliot UK ambassador will make a further announcement re UK driving license exchange at the end of July. Maybe if a few people pulled their fingers out of their a***holes they might achieve a positive outcome?

I agree about an electric bicycle. The manufacturers have got the design and technology about right now so a good investment. And you don't have to pay road tax or have a licence......

Electric bike would work but you would be more vulnerable to drivers who think cyclist of any type are just a nuisance and not a legal road user with every right to be there.

Have a look at the N332 website.   This site, and their Facebook page, deals with anything to do with driving in Spain for English speaking people.   It is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code.
