Hi everyone,
we are looking to hire a car in playa Flamenca for 23 days, not sure if to collect from airport, or transfer down and have for a shorter period locally. Any suggestions / comments … and any suggested car hire companies to use, seems quite expensive at the moment.
Any help, thoughts, comments all appreciated.

At the Airport Lara, Wiber, Edi, Coys would be among the best for all inclusive prices without hidden extras. Taking a return taxi to PF would be around €140 depending on the number of people, luggage & the arrival & departure times. Some local firms nearer to PF should do Airport collection & drop you back for less than that & have the hire car waiting at your destination.

I agree with the above, save yourselves €100 and cut out the airport transfer.
Also, disregard the on airport hirers, too many crooks.
Both Lara and Magnum are excellent off airport Companies who will meet you at the airport with your car, the price that they quote you is what you will pay and there will be no heavy sell of additional insurances which you may find in the terminal.
