Got picked up by a Taxi Driver in Alicante and one of the subjects we got onto was Squatters, she told me what had happened to her Mother, her mother had sold her home in Buckinhamshire England and put the whole of the proceeds into buying a Villa in I think Almeria, Spain, but she also needed to get a mortgage as she didn't have all the funds to pay for it outright, she furnished it as she wanted, and the family helped dig out and install a pool, her mother returned one day to find a woman with a child and dogs living there claiming squatting rights !!! - the police were called but the squatter refused to leave, - The initial costs for Solicitors was €6,000-00 which she did not have as she had invested it all into the Villa, The result was that she had no money to pay the mortgage as she needed it to rent elsewhere, the Bank eventually repossed the property and she lost IT ALL, furniture, EVERYTHING !!!

For those who are disputing this, what proof have you got that's it is not true !!! - None ! - What proof have I got ? - Well I heard it from the Daughter and she appeared very Genuine, Why would she make up something like this ? How would she benefit by making up a story like this ?  It makes me wonder if you do not want people to publicise these kind of stories as it would damage the Spanish economy.

How  was woman  going to live  if  all  proceeds  of House  sale in  UK 🇬🇧   were invested  in  a Villa in Almoradi.  A  sane  Person  would keep a percentage  of House sale  for a Rainy day  fund.  I  would  describe  it as a foolish  move if  somewhat  unbelievable

I agree, you should always keep money aside for unexpected circumstances, as I don't know the whole story I can only assume her pension would cover her day to day living ! Durr !

Why so much hated towards someone sharing a story about something we know happens. It's unfortunate that she lost the house but positive behind the negative that we can all learn from, never buy a house outright because if you get squatters then just stop paying the bank. This story proves that the banks are the only ones who can quickly get of a squatter.

But can I ask a different question? Was your taxi driver english? Very few of them around.

Hold on a sec, I can’t hear myself think with this alarm going off, what is that racket (ah that’s the alarm, my bullsh*t alarm). Ok people, are we all sitting comfortably, legs in a basket, then I’ll begin. So there’s this English taxi driver who lays golden eggs and sold the Emperor a new coat that only he can see while climbing the beanstalk. One day while driving along the yellow brick road she stopped beside some rocking horse poo, to ask the scarecrow directions to grannies house. You don’t want to go to grannies house said the scarecrow, some illegal aliens have taken it over and refuse to leave, one of them with a big long finger is demanding to phone home. I can sort this said a friendly passer by on his way to Hogwarts. Outside grannies house which was mortgaged amazingly but nearly all paid for after downsizing in Sherwood Forrest, the tall thin stranger took a flute like instrument from his pocket and began to play a tune which was irresistible to squatters and they followed him to Torrevieja where he dumped them in the sea.
Tune in next week boys and girls for the fairytale about Brexit that worked, a Spanish bank with no charges and a summer with sunshine in Glasgow.

Love Bo Bo

That's your opinion but the account is as stated, I can see no reason why they would want to make up that story !
