Hi. I recently had a short break in Playa Flamenca. I arrived on Thursday and stopped at Punta Prima for lunch. My car was broken into and like an idiot my case was in the car boot. I lost all my luggage. i went to the police and was told they didn't deal with that sort of thing. I was told to report the incident the the civil guard the following day.

On arrival i was told that the "guard" was too busy to take any more reports that day and that I woiuld have to go back on Monday

On Monday I reaslised there was a sign saying that they didn't speak English and that I could only report a crime through an interpreter. As I was leaving the following day I gave up.

Without a crime reference number I can't claim on my insurance. Do you have an email address for the police that would enable me to report the matter from the UK please? Many thanks

To do a denuncia, it needs to be in person, as they would need to see your passport and witness your signature on the denuncia.

For general information, it's possible to prepare a denuncia online, then print it out:

http://www.guardiacivil.es/en/servicios/denuncias/index.html

https://e-denuncia.guardiacivil.es/eDenuncia/paginas/datosDenunciante4InteriorVehiculo.faces

Unfortunately this won't help you if you're unable to present the denuncia.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Thank you - that is helpful. I am out again at the end of the month and may well do that.
